When the wind blows, the door will slam shut with a loud bang and everyone on the same floor will hear it very clearly.

How does the locking mechanism works?

There is a small lever on the door and when the door is pushed shut, the pin in the small lever will enter a hole in a lever which is stuck to the wall thus locking the door.
